The Trenton RC Flyers are a small group of radio control aviation freaks who spend about 8-10 hours a weekend together at the best flying site that a club could ever hope to have! Flying is 8-12 on Saturday, 12-5 on Sunday, weather permitting. We have the privilege of utilizing a rarely used taxiway at Edgefield County Airport (uncontrolled), a 90 acre grass field leased by the full scale Trenton Flyers club. We maintain a good relationship with the full scale club, yielding to any full scale traffic in the pattern and on the ground. We have some of the full scale club member fly with us regularly and we sit under canopies and talk for hours. When any of our members are flying, we watch and listen for full scale aircraft. Having an aircraft band transceiver on occasion helps us monitor field activities. Additionally, a P.A speaker on one of the hangars alerts us of any traffic approaching or departing the field.
Our mission:
1. Yield to full scale aircraft. Land as quickly and safely as possible. If this is not possible, we guide our planes over to the peach orchard near the power lines until we can land safely.
2. Be as safe as we possibly can. We have had only one injury in 5+ years; fingers vs. prop. It required stitches but it was not an emergency. We gladly assist other members in starting and handling planes. We remind each other to stay clear of the front of the prop and out of its plane of rotation, etc. Its all common sense stuff.
3. We try to have as much fun as we can.
4. Lunch is $5.08 $5 to $7 for barbeque at Trenton Barbeque, (TRCF Club Headquarters) on the way home every Saturday afternoon. Don't forget to ask for your free slice of bundt cake or banana pudding.
Phrases commonly heard at the TRCF Field: Its too windy.
The plane doesn't know it windy.
What are you gonna do now?
Lower!
I meant to do that.
I told you it wasn't going to work.

I DON'T HAVE IT!!!
Its just dirty old money.
Even a blind squirrel eventually finds an acorn.
